How to Donate
You may donate to the animal shelter in several ways: By
sending a check or money order to our U.S. office, by
wiring funds to our U.S. bank account, by using a credit
card through the on-line Pay Pal system, or by shipping
donated supplies to our U.S. office. All donations in cash
or kind are tax-deductible to you.
The Afghan Stray Animal League is a federally tax-exempt organization under
Section 501 c 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. It is based
in Arlington, Virginia. It has an unpaid board of directors
but no paid employees or officers in the United
States.

Other Ways to Contribute
We also welcome contributions of any light and portable
animal care supplies, especially Front Line or Advantix
flea medicine, Heartguard heartworm medicine, Drontal
deworming medicine, nylon leashes and collars of all sizes,
small and medium plastic cat and dog carriers, plastic
travel bowls with cage attachments, hair brushes and combs,
rawhide dog chews in sealed plastic pouches, 3 cc and 60 cc
plastic syringes, large latex surgical gloves (sizes 8 and
8 ½,) 10 -and 15-foot-long cable tie-outs with clips, and
KMR powdered kitten and puppy formula in cans. No dog or
cat food, please!!! All portable supplies may be shipped to
the Arlington office (please email us for the address), and
they will be hand-delivered to the shelter every three
months.
Cash donations are used to pay for operating expenses and medical supplies. Our shelter's operating costs are approximately $3,000 per month, including rent for the main shelter/clinic and a separate boarding building, local staff salaries, and basic supplies. A contribution of $100 pays for 10 rabies vaccines or two spay operations. A contribution of $500 pays for one month’s rent for the main shelter. Money is raised separately for the shipping of any animals to adopters’ homes. Tax-deductible receipts will be mailed immediately to the donor. Thank You!!
