ADOPT LEFTY ---this is lefty, a sweet white cat who was found in the street with a badly mangled leg and head injury. He had either been hit by a car, caught in some barbed wire or attacked by a dog. He is being treated by our vet and is beginning to heal. The most amazing thing is that he just sits in your lap and purrs and purrs, even when his wounds are being dressed. He is so grateful and friendly, and he deserves all the love in the world.

Naranji, which means orange-colored, is a sweet marmalade cat who was rescued by a friend and brought to the shelter this winter. The friend hoped to take her to Europe but was not able to do so. Now Naranji is living with two other cats in a large play-cage at the Kabul shelter. She is safe and warm and healthy, but she would much rather be playing ping-pong or sitting on someone's lap in front of a fire. Every time we enter the cage to feed or clean the cats, she immediately tries to climb up our legs and into our arms. A clearer message she could not be sending.

TIGER CUB -- The fellow on the left is a stuffed tiger. His friend on the right is OREO, a friendly and adventuresome male cat who was brought to us with a terrible respiratory sickness this winter. He is now fully recovered and spends his days prowling the shelter and napping on the top shelf of the cat room with his stuffed companion.
